Which operating systems are supported by Lightkey?
Lightkey supports the following MS Windows OS versions: 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Can I install Lightkey on my MAC?
Not directly, as Lightkey currently supports only MS Windows OS versions 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. However, if you have a virtual machine (e.g. Parallels) running Windows on your MAC, you’ll be able to install Lightkey on that virtual machine.
Which Microsoft Office versions and applications are supported?
Lightkey's inline native text prediction experience is available in MS Office Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, included in the following MS Office versions:

Which web browsers are supported by Lightkey?
Lightkey's native inline text prediction experience is currently avaialble in selected Google Chrome web browser applications.
Which Chrome applications are supported by Lightkey?
Lightkey’s Chrome extension currently supports the following applications with native prediction experience:
- WhatsApp Web
- Outlook Mail (outlook.com)
- Yahoo! Mail
I don’t use Microsoft Office. Can I still install Lightkey on my machine and use it just in Chrome?
During its installation Lightkey performs a compatibility check and enables you to review the various applications installed on your machine that will be supported/not supported.
I don't have either Microsoft Office or Google Chrome. Can I enjoy Lightkey's text prediction technology?
I type in one of the supported languages but don’t get any predictions
This is often related to a missing “input language” in your system configuration.

Will Lightkey save any of my keystrokes / typed content on its cloud?
The nature of my work is confidential and my computer is not connected to the internet. Can I still install and use Lightkey?
Lightkey can be installed on stand-alone / VM / ‘hardened’ client machines using its offline installer package that can be downloaded separately and then uploaded to the stand-alone machine using external digital media and/ or remotely over a local network connection.

Does Lightkey send any information from my computer to its cloud?
In order to keep improving Lightkey, some numerical and statistical usage data (NOT content!) is sent to Lightkey’s cloud for analysis. However, this can easily be disabled without affecting Lightkey’s performance under the "Settings" tab in Lightkey's Control Center.
Is it possible to configure Lightkey’s selection key (e.g. 'Space Bar' instead of Tab)?
Yes, you can choose either Tab, Enter, right arrow or all three of them as your selection key/s.
We chose Tab as Lightkey’s default selection key for reasons derived from some of our core values:
(1) minimum interference with the user’s typing; and
(2) minimum false positive errors.
For example, choosing ‘space bar’ over Tab as Lightkey's selection key would evidently result in both unwanted interference and false positive errors. In other words, using ‘space bar’ as the selection key might result in selecting predictions where such predictions are unwanted. For example: let’s assume you want to type the word ‘attach’ and Lightkey suggests the prediction ‘attached’. You ignore the suggestion and after typing the last character ‘h’, you press the ‘space bar’ in order to create a space and move on to the next word. If ‘space bar’ was Lightkey's selection key, at this point Lightkey would recognize the ‘space bar’ hit as your order to select its suggested prediction, and instead of getting that space and moving on to the next word you would end up with ‘attached’ instead of ‘attach’.
Also, it should be noted that Tab is actually very commonly used as a selection key in many development platforms such as software development etc.
Can Lightkey work in conjunction with Google's Smart Compose in Gmail?
Unfortunately, due to the fact that Google’s Smart Compose feature UI is highly similar to Lightkey's UI (i.e. inline text predictions, displayed in gray font), there might be a conflict that affects the way predictions are displayed.
In order to solve this issue, we recommend users to choose which prediction solution they prefer for typing in Gmail, and simply deactivate the less proffered solution.

Yes, please follow the next steps to complete a successful migration:
- Backup your personal prediction profile.
- Remove Lightkey from the device it was installed on.
- Install Lightkey on your new/alternative device.
- Activate your license in the new/alternative device.
- Restore your personal prediction profile onto the new device.

I renewed my annual license before my current license expired - will the remaining period of my current license add-up to my new license?
Yes, as long as you purchase and activate the new license within 90 days before expiration of the current license.
