Lightkey Pro’s latest edition features a new Invitation Program that extends your license expiration by up to 6 months for free. Simply send invitations to your friends and colleagues and for each valid and activated invitation your license expiration will be automatically extended by 45 days. In this post we will explain how to invite your friends, track the status of your invites, and earn your license credits.
How does it work?
First, make sure you’re using Lightkey’s latest edition. If you’re not sure, simply go to our download page and click Download. Then, go to the ‘About’ tab in Lightkey's Control Center and click on the ‘License’ tab. At the bottom pane you’ll find four text boxes. Simply fill in valid email addresses of your friends and colleagues and click on ‘Send Invites’.
Please make sure to enter your name and email address in the following popup prompt to make it easier for your friends to know who invited them. That’s it, your license is about to be extended soon!
Your friends will now receive an email with a link to our website where they need to download Lightkey. In addition, the email will include an invite code to activate the invitation. Once successfully activated, you’ll see the extra 45 days credited to your license expiration under the ‘License’ tab in your Lightkey Control Center.
How can I track the status of my sent invites?
You can see the status of your sent invites in Lightkey’s Control Center; Go to the ‘About’ tab, click on the ‘License’ tab and in the bottom pane click on ‘Invite Status’. Each invite marked as ‘confirmed’ adds 45 days to your license expiration.
How can I activate the invite I received?
Your invite email includes a link to our website where you need to download Lightkey. In addition, the email includes an invite code to activate your invite.
Once installed, go to the ‘About’ tab in Lightkey's Control Center and click on the ‘License’ tab. Then, click on ‘Activate using a license key’ and in the popup prompt click on the ‘invite code’.
Then, copy and paste the invite code that was provided in the invite email you received.
Once successfully activated, your license will be extended by 30 days, and your friends’ license will be extended by 45 days.
How can I make sure that my sent invites are qualified?
A qualified invite is:
An invite sent to a valid email address.
An invite sent to someone who doesn’t have Lightkey installed on their machine
The invitee hasn’t already activated an invite.
Once your friend received the invite email, they will need to install Lightkey on their machine and activate it using the provided invite code included in the email. For each successfully activated invite (up to four activated invitations in total), you’ll see extra 45 days credited to your license expiration under the ‘License’ tab in your Lightkey Control Center.
One of my invited friends already has Lightkey. Can I send more invitations to earn my credit?
Sure, no worries! You can send up to 8 invites. However, you can only get credits for up to 4 activated invites and earn up to 6 months license credit.
I already have a paid Lightkey Pro 1-year license. Can I still get the extra 6 months credit?
Absolutely! Lightkey’s invite program is open to both trial-users and 1-year license customers. Lifetime license and/ or Lightkey for Business customers currently don’t have access to the Invitation Program.
What happens if my friend doesn't activate their invite using the invite code?
Invited friends must activate their invitations using the invite code they were provided with, otherwise we won’t be able to credit your license.
