The New Lightkey: Personal, Private Predictive Typing Everywhere
Native integrations span communication, productivity, AI assistants, development tools and Google Workspace, with all predictions made on the user's device.
Jerusalem, Israel, October 13, 2026. Lightkey today launched the new Lightkey, the largest expansion in the company's history. Lightkey's personal, private writing assistant now works natively in virtually every desktop app and across the web, including Microsoft Teams, New Outlook, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Notion, Obsidian, ClickUp, monday.com, Asana, ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Visual Studio Code, Cursor, Canva, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides.
The launch reflects a fundamental shift in how people work. For decades, professional writing happened mainly in documents, presentations and email. Today, it unfolds across communication platforms, collaborative workspaces, AI assistants and development environments. The applications changed. The writing never stopped.
People never stopped typing. They simply moved to new windows.
Personal. Private. Everywhere.
Personal: Lightkey learns from each user's own writing and predicts up to 18 words at a time, including punctuation, with real-time spelling suggestions.
Private: Lightkey runs on the user's device and works offline. Content is never sent to the cloud.
Everywhere: Native integration with virtually every desktop app, plus Chrome and Edge extensions for web apps, in more than 80 languages.

The newly supported applications span seven categories of modern work:

Lightkey continues to support Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Classic Outlook, along with web applications such as Gmail through its Chrome and Edge extensions.
Following the evolution of work
Over the past decade, workplace communication expanded far beyond email. Knowledge moved from files and folders into collaborative workspaces, project management platforms became central to how organizations run, and developers now spend much of their day writing documentation, prompts and comments alongside code. Collaborative cloud tools such as Google Workspace became essential for analyzing, documenting and presenting information.
The result is a workplace where professionals move continuously between applications. The new Lightkey is designed to provide one consistent writing experience across all of them.
Built around flow, not replacement
Unlike tools that generate content on the user's behalf, Lightkey helps people express their own ideas more efficiently. Its predictions and corrections reduce interruptions and repetitive typing so users stay focused while they write. The goal is not to replace writing. It is to help people stay in flow.
Privacy without compromise
As organizations evaluate new productivity technology, privacy and security remain critical. Lightkey performs all prediction and correction processing locally on the user's device and works offline, so content never leaves the computer. For organizations in regulated industries or handling sensitive information, that architecture matters as much as the productivity gain.
Executive quote
"The future of productivity isn't about a single application. It's about continuity across many applications," said Guy Katabi, Co-Founder and CEO of Lightkey. "As work moved to new windows, we made sure Lightkey moved with it. Our mission remains the same: helping people stay in flow, communicate more effectively and write with confidence, wherever their work happens."
Availability
The new Lightkey is available now for Windows 7 and later at lightkey.io. The download includes a free, fully functional 30-day trial.
